Specifics
A regional existing condition EPA-SWMM5 model was provided for the 100-year return-period rainfall as the starting point. Lago modified the model to represent post project conditions. The width of the proposed building pad was varied to consider different design alternatives. Several bypass culvert dimensions were also considered. For all alternatives, stage and flow hydrographs and peak values around the project area were compared.
In addition to the one-dimensional (1D) simulations, preliminary two-dimensional (2D) simulations were performed. The 2D models for pre- and post-project conditions use the upstream inflow hydrograph predicted in SWMM for existing conditions. Animations of predicted water depth maps, as well as peak water depth maps were obtained.
