Naples Park Modeling – Model Review and Improvements
The Collier County Stormwater Department is improving the stormwater management systems in the Naples Park community. The objective was to review and improve the ICPR models (i.e., the existing and the post-project condition) that were completed by Lago in 2018. The upgraded models served as a basis to evaluate new scenarios.

Specifics
LAGO improved the previously developed models by using a more recent DEM. Subbasins were subdivided into smaller basins and new nodes were added to increase the spatial resolution and the level of details. As a result, the upgraded models estimate less flooding in the project area. New future scenarios included utilization of underground storages, raise of roads, adding sidewalks, generation of storage in swales and detention/retention ponds, etc.
Outcome
The results from the scenario evaluation were considered to produce the final design.
